Christ Our Passover

Apostle Paul, I would speak to you from the authority given me in Christ, to guide the church in truth and godly living. Hear now the spirit and meaning behind these scriptures:

**1 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV):**  
*"Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:"*

Brethren, I speak to you as those called to holiness. The "old leaven" represents sin—especially the hidden sins that work silently, corrupting the whole body like yeast in dough. The church at Corinth tolerated sin among them—an open sin that should have brought mourning, not pride.

But you are not that old, sinful dough any longer. You are a *new lump*, set apart by the blood of Christ. He is your Passover Lamb. Just as the Israelites removed leaven during Passover, so must you remove sin now. Christ has been sacrificed—pure, without blemish—so you might walk in newness and sincerity. Let your lives reflect the holiness of the One who redeemed you.

**Romans 6:12–13 (KJV):**  
*"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God."*

Children of grace, do not misunderstand the freedom you have received. Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? *God forbid!* Though your old man was crucified with Christ, sin still seeks to rule in your body.

Your hands, your eyes, your thoughts—these are your *members*. Do not give them over to unrighteousness. Do not let your body become an instrument of wickedness. Instead, offer yourselves to God. You have passed from death to life! Let every part of you—your speech, your actions, your desires—serve righteousness.

- Cast out the old leaven—remove sin that corrupts the church and your own life.
- Recognize Christ as your Passover Lamb, sacrificed to make you holy.
- Do not let sin rule your body.
- Yield your members to God, for you are now alive in Christ.
